Test N Tune 2018
« on: February 24, 2018, 04:04:10 PM »
The USFRA will be hosting a Test N Tune, July 6th, 7th and 8th, 2018. There had been discussions about prepping a short course and offering short course records as part of the Test N Tune. We submitted the idea to the SCTA board asking for representatives to attend and certify the records. They discussed it, and decided that it should remain a Test N Tune meet. Therefore, there will be no record attempts available at the July meet. Record attempts and certifications will be available at the World of Speed in September.
For the Test N Tune, we will start runs at noon on Friday the 6th and continue through Sunday the 8th.  If you are a new driver, you will be able to license up to a C classification. Entry forms will be up on our website soon, www.saltflats.com.
We need to have a minimum of 50 entries by May 31st. Please be sure to get your entries in so we can move forward with plans for this event.

We are still open for entries at our July Test-N-Tune. We need at least 50 entries to make this event happen. There are still several slots available.
The schedule will be as follows: July 5th: Setup and start vehicle inspections in the afternoon.  July 6th: Inspections will continue as needed. Drivers meeting about noon, start running vehicles at 1:00 pm.  July 7th: normal race day.  July 8th: racing will end around 2:00 pm, cleanup and head for home.
There will be licensing to AA available, providing the vehicle and driver pass appropriate tech inspections.
This will be a minimal frills event, no food vendors, no fuel, no AM radio station. Each crew vehicle will need a CB radio as that is how announcements/communications will be handled.
Check our web site, www.saltflats.com for more detailed information.
The salt conditions at this time look to be much smoother than the last few years.
Hope to see you there.

Dennis Sullivan and Larry Volk were in Wendover this last Monday. They reported that the flats are indeed under water currently.

Ellen Wilkinson is in the process of tabulating the entries for the Test N Tune. Her personal schedule has been very busy lately and it will take
some more time for her to get the information put together.  This coming Wednesday, June 6th is our monthly USFRA club meeting. She has
told us she will have the results ready for the meeting.  We will then make our decision whether the Test N Tune will be a go, or not.  We will put
the word out as soon as we know.  Thanks for your patience in this regard.

The camera today shows "dry" though beginning of the week was a lake as Monte said.
