RULES AND RULERS
« Reply #15 on: November 28, 2006, 12:06:51 PM »
The bikes probably have the strength in numbers to stand alone with their
 own event.
The unfortunate part is the BUB event serves at the pleasure of one
person and their interest is paramount.
Just one of the sore spots is recognition by the 200 club.
The impression I get is the tech was so ragged and the AMA  principal
knew so little about it that he lied to someone that wasn't dumb.
When he was called on it , he had no answer.
Another had so little experience that he made some dangerous decisions
and actually got away with very few.
They seem to pander to the noobie that doesn't know or appreciate the difference.
Just the event budget cost per entrant will tell you that something is wrong
for what should be an amateur event.
This impression comes from a number of sources and experience levels.

How many do you want.

FIM used to be unlimited in design.

Now it uses an older version of SCTA rules.

SCTA allows for better streamlining, longer tail sections, higher tail sections.

SCTA has no restrictions on gas tank volume in a special construction bike...

SCTA Modified class allow for longer wheel bases..

More innovation in SCTA then there is FIM/AMA....

I love both either way.. But fact is fact..

want more?

Jack, why'd you go and point this out to them?

"A common mistake was to line up in the short line with the expectation
that it put you closer to the front of the line.
The mistake was the cars take up much more space with the support
vehicles as opposed to the bikes that might have 10 entries in the same space.
Always count noses not distance to the front."

Hey Slim, we may need 4 wheels to keep our vehicles upright buy we aren't stupid!

Whenever we see a lone van in line we yell out "CLOWN CAR" because just as you think you are getting close to the front of the line, the vans doors will fly open and  people in funny suits will start jumping out with their bikes. 1! 2! 3! 4!  How the hell do you guys get 4 bikes and riders in a single van???

Is everyone sitting in there sucking up the air conditioning???

Well John,
Until you have spent the night in the same Hotel Room with 8 pairs of 3 day old socks and the feet still in them, you ain't raced no bikes nor would you survive the van ride either.

Once again the MC rule changes were not mentioned at the board meeting last night.
The car rules were presented as is required and each one presented was discussed by the Club reps and voted on by the board.
While the MC rules voting was on the printed adgenda, they were neither presented for discussion by anybody or voted on.
They were just not mentioned and passed over.
It was an interesting meeting.

Did anyone hear anything on the rule changes?  According to the SCTA site they were supposed to be out yesterday.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

REMARKABLE
The procedure should have had them to the clubs some time ago with the car stuff.
I wonder why not !
People that thought they were on the committee seem to be lacking a response to their E-mail questions and observations. while others are treated like a long lost relative.

At the SDRC meeting tonight their was no word to the club as to the proposed ruler changes for bikes.
Bob Moreland was asked about any changes and he said he did not know of any.
I expect to be at the board meeting tomorrow night to see what happens.
