I think the correct term is auto(motive) erotica.
A Bonneville Lakester please barman.
Certainly sir; a lick of salt, a sip of gas and a twist of Lemming. More Lemming sir?
Just a squeeze.

A Squeeze of Lemming it is sir.

Low production day... interrupted by a Dentist appointment...  something I really hate to do... so I did some of my yard work before going....
Back to the car... The shocks have some 1/4" think safety rubber pads that fit under the top spring perch... they really didn't want to stay in place... contact cement fixed that.  I also adjusted the shock links to the rocker arm so the remaining travel was the same for each axle.  This limited the suspension travel to about 1 5/8 inch before it contacts the main limiting/softening donut for compression.... and by my calculation the center of travel at ride height.  This is where I will start.

OK I did more than that... I smeared a little red RTV around the removable panel on the firewall, I'll let it set up to a gasket and then bolt it all together.  Yes, I could have taped it off and made it look pretty, but no one will ever see this part.  Oh... except y'all  :?

I also made spark plug wires... those were a bit of a bear... the Taylor boots fit really tight on the Moroso wires... required a little silicone lube to get the silicone boot to slide on the silicone wire cover.  And even then, they really didn't want to cooperate.  But there we have it... yea I did other stuff, but hardly worth mentioning... other than wiring and wheels I'm almost done.... except for all those 10 minute jobs that take an hour.  :-(

Well we were officially thrown into scramble mode today... we are not getting a new Motec and wiring before SpeedWeek.  So no E85 or Methanol.  But the bigger problem is I now need to install the old Motec and harness in the car with a set up for everything done differently.  I started doing that... unfortunately a lot of the supporting old wire was not removed with the intention of reuse.  The Motec wire is all good... and almost installed... but the power wires, warning light wires... well everything but the wire connected to the Motec is toast.
But we will get it done... it won't be pretty, already removed the LS coil set up, found my Fuel injection jumper wires, threw in the stock coils, removed the spark plug top nuts... and a crap load of other stuff.
I will try to get a pic or two along the way

Yesterday I thunk about the Motec issues while I was fixing the window motivation system in Rose's truck.  My truck has a conveniently located handle.  A few simple turns and the window goes up or down.  A drunk chimp can fix anything that goes wrong with it.  Rose's truck has the buttons, relays, motors, switches and other BS that takes an entire afternoon to figure out.  An electrical engineering degree would be a big help to repair it.  Both the button and the hand crank do the exact same job.

Maybe carbs might be the answer to the EFI issues.  They might give a few more HP 'cause the inlet tracts are not cluttered with the throttle butterflies.  The carbs will definitly be simpler to work on.

Bo, Yes and no on carbs.  My S&S Super E is barely a calibrated fuel leak with an iffy air/idle screw and fixed intermediate and main jets (by fixed I mean factory drilled and not even consistent increments one to the next).  On the dyno we found another 40 horses but had to swap jets between pulls making a mess and taking some time.  An EFI set up is definitely in the near future.  The MOTEC (and most EFI's) will hunt for and find the AFR number you spec from a laptop keyboard, no tools required.  And as for intake clutter, at wide open, carb or EFI. the carb or throttle body bore should be almost unobstructed (see second picture for  an example of a free flowing intake).

The EFI looks to be less work than carbs once it is dialed in.  My experience with that carb is similar.  Big Mikuni flat slide emulsion carbs are what I use now and there is a vast improvement in mixture quality and a slight increase in air flow.  That car is looking good.

Ross, 40HP increase on a Harley, that's significant.

Funny what boost, fuel and someone telling you to twist that right hand all the way till it bottoms out will do for performance.  And having friends who ship 6 packs taped to swing arms and 24/7 unfettered access to an axle hub dyno is flat f'n wonderful too.
