Went out to CO to work on the body a little more... we started by trimming the nose, then added dzus strips to the sides to hang the nose.  Then came battery box support structure.  We decided that structure should also be used to support and brace the nose, so there will be a couple of dzus buttons that attach under the nose to the flat plate out front.  If ballast becomes necessary it can be attached out there as well.  There will also be dzus strips on the top and bottom

We also got the the engine cover installed.  We still have a couple of dzus's to figure out for the back of the engine cover but it is mostly there.  Then on to the tail.  We were able to salvage the old tail fin, trim a little off the front and bond it back together. Still have a bit of body work to clean it up but  the tail fin is in place.
The tail fin is held to the cover with ten 1/4-20 bolts into the aluminum tail base.
The body is starting to take shape.... I kinda like the way we are doing it this time.

We spent a couple of days working on the canopy latches, getting them in position and adjusting them.  It is not easy to find a spot that can be reached from the inside and outside, not be in the way where it can be tripped accidentally, and fitted to hold the canopy down.  Once we got those to fit we turned our attention to filling the hole.  Our last windshield was on the inside.  We discussed in or outside... we could fair it either way, but outside seemed easier and better aerodynamically.  We found a good position and installed it.  There is a screw and nut about every 2 inches
Threw a little mud at it to get the process started

Gustafsson Plastics great people to work with. Shipped 2 custom Lakester windscreens in a little over a week. We have been dealing with them since the 80s. They also made the windscreens for the Vesco  Turbinator II. Please tell them John in Denver with the Bockscar lakester recommended them.

I preferred Bockscar 1's colour scheme

Aside from that minor concern it is looking fab.

Thanks guys.... no worries, Bockscar 2.0 will be just like the original Bockscar only different
We are hoping to have a little better suspension and aero, but the test of that is on the salt...
But first we have a little more to do.
