Still working on interior panel dzus fasteners... slow and painful...
I might be ready to pull the car off the frame jig soon... to do that, I will have to strip it to bare frame... I guess I will be able to get some parts painted while they are off.

I have 1 dzus left... but need the car upside down or at least more accessible than it is now.  It can be done after everything but the interior panels are stripped out and the car is cut off the jig.
To check that I could snake a throttle cable in there I just installed it.  Works as required without the spare spring attached so when I attach that 6th spring (4 on TBs, 1 on pedal already) it will probably take a finger off if you have it in the TB when it snaps shut.

Started on the roll bar cap.... for a little extra protection to keep things out in case something untoward happens....making those were a PITA... I guess all the angles  complicate things, but they are all finally tacked in
I will make the parts to close the back in next...  unless something easier presents itself first  rolleyes

Continued with making the back piece which is also firewall... the little filler piece took a while, but thanks to MC2032 (Ross), he came up with the way to draw the pattern... part is made but didn't get it installed... Linda called with supper ready.... finish it tomorrow... with any luck
I never weld well after a couple of beers.  shocked  cheers

Jack, if you look back a couple of pics you can notice lines that almost look like beading.... I used a 3 inch die in a roll press brake... just enough press to curve the panel... the "beads" stiffened it also.  I was going to run it over to a friends place and use a roller, but  getting them right might have taken multiple trips...

Spent part of the day getting the back plate installed in the correct position... only had to cut off a couple of tacks in the process  rolleyes  Ross came over to help...
but first we had to run my car trailer over to Max (Kansas Bad Man) so he could haul his old Bonneville use pickup to his grandson about 105 miles away.  Yes it is drivable... but the gas tank has a rust hole in it that often leaks gas... I guess when it stops another chunk of rust has moved into the hole...  grin  So Ross and I went over, hooked up the trailer to Max's truck, loaded and tied down the old truck and sent him off to Moline.
Then we went back to my shop... got it sorted out... welded it up while it was easy and tacked it in place. 
I'll start welding all the plates in tomorrow.... after I add a few more tacks to the back plate.
Some days you get more done than others  cheers

Stitch welded the caps... Yes your eyes are not deceiving you, the stitches are not all the same length and evenly spaced  undecided I guess that's because the tacks were not done with that in mind... I was just trying to get the in place after reshaping them multiple times.  shocked
After I get the motor back out I will weld the upper firewall/back cover to the frame cross tube... that will finish sealing that part of the firewall.
Thinking about the lower firewall.  I think I will weld in a perimeter frame and bolt in the wall ensuring a water tight seal around the tubes.
