Monte - fantastic news - when you say, "It will be a full 5 mile track, matching the normal long course configuration.", does that mean 5 plus shutdown?

GW

Yes, it will be 5 miles plus a shutdown. Not sure if the shutdown will be longer than 2 miles until I have a chance to take a drag all the way out there.

Monte, thanks for the great news for all the racer they like to compete this year.

Unfortunately I will be not there this year, due to a private issue, which keeps me home.

For you all, safe and successful racing and stay always upright.

Hope I can follow the meet here over the notes at Landracing......so, use the PC and type from time to time an update
what is going on at the great white.

I will miss it
Pork Pie, it was great to see and visit with you at Speedweek. We will miss your smiling face and shiny camera. Hope all goes well for you and plan to see you next year.

Thanks for the info Monte. However, turn outs to the right is no problem for the roadsters, lakesters and aussies, it is a problem with the vehicles with large hood scoops. We can not see well to turnout to the right. The last time this was used, I remember a new black studie running into the back of another studie that did not pull far enough forward. It destroyed both cars. The turnouts have to be very wide if possible. It may be the same as speedweek, if you can not turn off safetly then they will just stop on the course and wait for someone to push them off. This makes for a very slow meet.
Anytime we have to make changes like this we are aware of the issues it places on many of the racers and their machines.  We are always reluctant to make changes but the current salt conditions are forcing our hand. We will do whatever we can to accommodate you all, and clearly mark the turnouts and make them as wide as practical.

Looking for a WOS entry if there's a  race team that can't use theirs,  I'd be happy to purchase the entry.
Thanks

Just checked weather and it appears rain is on the way today, tonight and tomorrow. Will anyone at the USFRA give racers and spectators a heads up in time to cancel rooms if the meet is rained out?

Morning Dave, the basic answer is YES , they are very good at trying to update before it's 'too late', but that doesn't mean that they can predict Mother Nature! :? That said, the POSITIVE outlook is NO RAIN or just a sprinkle , it would have to be a pretty hard steady  rain for the event to be cancelled!  See ya out there !!

Any rain out there yet? In the forecast for next few days, just curious as we are starting our three day drive to Wendover.
