Well I just flew in to Las Vegas from London UK to take part this week. The race car left Tennessee yesterday so fingers crossed we will get good weather.

Correct - I'm not out there, so no audio.

But - Ron Christensen is out there and sent this text a few minuters ago (around 6AM Bville time):

"The salt doesn't look too wet this morning despite rain showers 'til about 2AM".

The forecast didn't look good, but Ron gives hope.  Today'll be the first day of runs.

Hi everyone....Fantastic blue skies but a vicious wind that did not let up. The salt actually was drying out nicely so a plus from that. Forecast says it should be a real nice weekend so an early start.

Lots of racing today, two Turbinator runs, one with a 420+ and one with no time given, the only thing I heard was the car was at the nine mile and it didn't take it very long to get there.

So Eric Ritter becomes only the 15th person to go over 400 mph (wheel-driven)?

Vesco information on Facebook suggests both runs were 400+ but neither was a qualifier for the class record.

Nothing official, but the word here on the salt was that they took out the lights on their last run.  There's probably about 15-20 cars in impound, including the two Kiwi Synergy V-8's, the VW D/DS car, an XXF/BFRMR, a couple Karmann Ghias, a G/PS Jetta, 3 Guthrie-Levie bikes, a couple roadsters, a C/BFALT (I think) Stude, and the Twin Scout Indian.  I'm doing this from memory from when I left at 6pm last night, so I may have missed some.  Oh, yeah - a B/DT Didge P/U, too.
