Caribbean Food Restaurant in Wendover

Is it still there?  Just trying to plan out important things like where I'm going to eat every night.  :-D

There's a Caribbean Food Restaurant in Wendover?  How did I  miss that?  Is it hiding in a casino... rarely spend much time in those I guess.... don't need to pay their electric bill

Montego Bay has fiddled around a few times with the restaurant in a corner of the building - maybe that's the one?  Maybe it's in the Peppermill- we don't go there often enough to remember.  Nope, I'm not much help.

Don't get me started or you might find one directly upwind form your pit (this applies to all, not just JB and those kids).  And speaking of the potties, it's maybe time for me to find an apprentice.  Anybody ready to step up to learn how to herd outhouses?

Yep, Wendover's best kept secret.  I really hope it's still there.  I made the mistake of not going in because of what it looked like on the outside but was blown away by how good the food was once I tried it.  Should have ate there every night - no joke.  It's that good.  And not even "Wendover good" - it's actually good-good.

It's in Utah in the old building that was the supermarket, next to the laundromat, next to the dead drive-in bank.

The fuc*ing music was so loud, I didn't think I'd have had the volume to order in there.

Nancy remembers now that I give her those hints, and so do I.  Yeah, the music was loud - I s'pose to attract the passers-by.  Loud enough to attract passers in Ely, but that's another story.  The food was okay, nothing special, nothing bad -- that was our one visit there.  Maybe Nathan or maybe we hit a funky night.

Speaking of food, what was the story about the Red Flame Grill not being out there last year?  I really missed not having their Racers Breakfast plate, watching the sun rise.  Does anyone know if they'll be back this year (if there's any salt to race on)?

Is that the same as outing turdhouses?

Tough telling, seeing as we're talking about Wendover Restaurants . . .

I THINK I know the story - that the Red Flame couldn't stay for the entire event but Enola Gay could.   Jacie (sp?) managed to set up at both the line and the vendor area- that was great.  And Nancy and I are especially fans of Enola Gay 'cause they lend us the big grill we use at Salt Talks.

Yup, I enjoyed a bunch of Red Flame food over the years and had my favorites (like simply getting there around 10.30 and catching the swtichover from breakfast to lunch.  "How much of everything do you want?" was what we'd be asked when we'd arrive at the grill.

Ah, time marches on.  And maybe I've got the story wrong.  I know that USFRA hasn't used Red Flame for a good handful of years.

I believe that the Red Flame (my favorite) had lost their arse the two years of the wash-out and couldn't (or wouldn't) commit to another year -- passing up other lucrative venues to not make a dime that weekend because of our  cancellations.

Makes sense to me.

I spoke to someone in Wendover today. Yes there is still water but it was hot today (88) and has been windy recently both of which help move water around and dry it. The recent photos posted show some above water salt.

It's still May.

Three months away.

Lots can happen -- or not.

Anything that happens in the next month can be dealt with -- easily -- or not.

Way too far away to judge August conditions.

Blazing Saddles – ". . . or are we simply just jacking off?"
