2017 Rule book!
« on: April 24, 2017, 03:57:51 PM »
I received my new rule book last week.
1. Question:   Why are the updates/changes not called out in a way that makes life a little easier for everyone?  Obviously, I enjoy sitting down and reading this thing cover to cover over and over and over so I can spot the changes, but a "cheat sheet" page calling out rule numbers or at least section numbers would be a handy addition.  Anyone else feel this way?

As on page 64, changes are in bold print. In past years this has been the way changes were made apparent. i haven't looked at the whole book, but I would hope that is carried over throughout.

They are in bold print.  Take a look throughout.  And you don't have to read the whole book, just the parts that apply to your entry.

Wish someone proof read the names to go along with the car records set in 2016! Seems my sons name is listed for the two records the San Giovanni family set in 2016 with our rear engine modifeid roadster. However dad {thats me} set the gas record my son set the fuel record.

S here J there..... send Dan or Stan a note and they can be corrected by next year's book... the S and J are sorted on the 16 SW results, but they are J's on the website records.... yea... shoulda looked earlier, they can get the web records fixed.
Or just re-set them higher this year

Good idea Stainless 1 I will send Stan a PM. Since we are waiting for the record certificate and timing tag from last years event hopefully those items will be correct.
Now about re-setting them higher this year after all the time and expense involved doing it last year Im not so sure about that.

Page 5, last paragraph. Reminds us that changes are in bold print.

I am curious as to why rule changes , as shown in bold print, are not found in section 4 (Definitions) . Here's an example, we run in a production class, this year we are allowed "Frame clips". Go to section 4 for a description of a "Frame clip" .
I even went to the rear porch of Funk&Wagnalls , and in the mythical Mason jar , was no description of "Frame Clip". What now ?

That is a very good point and it will be tabled at the next rules meeting.
What is a frame clip? Check out this link to find out.....https://www.cachassisworks.com/c-240-frame-clips-front-weld-in.aspx

Dan, did you think I was kidding when I said I looked it up in the dictionary ?
It does not matter what my source says, Its what YOUR (SCTA) source says ! Example , I thought I knew what a shatterproof headlight cover was , and we all know how that went.  Thanks , RT

The way it reads, it looks like a PU can have a front clip and a rear clip... just must retain original frame under the cab.
Lakester rules are so much easier....
