Ya'll are the best - THANK YOU, SO MUCH!
Just got back from Birthday Breakfast - Kate took me to Blue's Egg, a very nice brunch bistro that Mr. and Mrs. Fordboy and we have frequented in the past. 72 degrees, so the 45 minute wait out front at the Bloody Mary bar was completely tolerable - and welcome.
Terry, the Frankensprite is at the point where such trips are now possible without the worry of being stranded. This car draws an inordinate amount of attention for its diminutive size. It's been on the road for 2 weeks, and has been in more "selfies" than I have in my entire life. I've got two new front tires on order, and a trip to Indiana is just around the corner.
It'll be a working birthday - going to clean up and rewire the trailer today. It sat outside my sister's cabin in Iowa for the last two winters, and at some point, the vermin that call the Wapsipinicon Valley their home decided to supplement their diets with vinyl and copper. When I picked it up, none of the wiring was working, and what was left showed the remnants of an all-you-can-eat rodent buffet.
While I made a point to clean it very thoroughly when I parked it, there are tell-tale signs of its two trips to Bonneville. I'll assess the welds while it's flipped up on its side. If it looks okay, I'll figure out storage for it - Kate wants here yard back - and if it's iffy, I'll suffer through the parade of craigslist dolts and turn it into a down payment on a different one.
Again, I am so proud to have become friends and made the acquaintance of all of you. I'm grateful for the help and support, digs and ribs (literally and figuratively, in Wayno's case), and the pleasure of your company.
The grand experiment continues.
Sincerely,
Chris and Kate
