Bonneville 2001,2002,2003,2004,and NO stinking 2005,DLRA 2006, next?
Well, sure can't complain about 2008--6 records over 200 and 5 hats from Bonneville,Bubs, and El Mirage for the team!

Sid is about right... I saw a lot of fields that were furrowed but nothing growing, maybe because it is winter.  Not sure if you guys can see the stone fences around that field... looks like folks pick the stones out, do dry stack dividing fences.... some of the plots are quite small, my guess was the ones with the most stones.
No containers so far.  Mike Cook, MC Jr, Tommy and I went out and laid out the track for signboards, Allen Rice, FIM Charlie and Andre laid out the timing area for the lights using string and nails we procured locally.  Day 1 of the meet is over and no one has a container yet.
Now promised at 8 in the morning....  :|
With the work we did today, the track should go up rather quickly... once the equipment arrives.

Last night we threw Ack a surprise birthday party... we were at supper at the hotel on the hill.
Sorry, Ack moved so fast to blow out the candle the picture was too blurry to post  :|

unfortunately that was not at our hotel...  :|

Well I was too tired too post anything last night... It is cold and 12000+ ASL and it takes its toll.  Yesterday we got containers...  8am was promised 1pm was delivered....except Al Lamb... maybe no hope for his to arrive.

We got Cooks unloaded first...Allen Rice started getting the radios and clocks up, Mike Jr started dragging after we assembled the drag then Tommy and I started setting up the track with signboards....
The rule is get off the salt before dark, so everything shuts down at 5 and folks start leaving.  Did I mention the track is 34 miles out?  Yea I thought so... its dark around 6.... so we got half done.

Today we continued setting up most of the track... left the hotel before sunup but it was light enough to head out.
Dragging continued, more track set up continued.  We had the 4-11 all done when Erin Sills made the first pass, not a record but a good shake down and practice for her team.  Then Ralph Hudson ran a down and back with 50 minutes left on the clock at a 291 and change average.  We had a crosswind so he was all over the track.
Ack is prepped to run in the morning as will Ralph and Erin.  There are 2 days left so no one is dilly dallying

Stainful . . .

That sign you photographed at the mile and a half should read 1.5 (one-point-five).

Question for somebody in the know. Are the race days set in stone even if there's no timing equipment or race vehicles? & if so, why?
