Mike Van Doren
« on: January 03, 2017, 03:53:52 PM »
It's with a heavy heart that I report that Mike Van Doren is in the Hospital with terminal cancer. Mike is not doing well and his passing is at hand.

Mike is a well liked member of the San Diego Roadster Club and has helped many of us with our cars, using his extraordinary fabrication skills.

Mike will be remembered as the driving force behind the Marshall & Thayer #737 Blown Fuel Competition Coupe made from a short wheelbase Crosley.

More recently Mike has been helping Jim Knapp with motorcycle powered Streamliner.

GOD speed Mike !

Tom

Sad to hear, this is starting to be a bum year.

It sounds like Mike may not make it through the evening.

He wants his ashes deployed at a place where the BLM might not approve, but should add to the salt composition.

So, so sad.

Sad to hear about Mike. I've known Mike for several years and know that he has been a great help to Jim in recently.

Joanie and I will keep the family in our prayers,

Don't know if this is the proper venue but Mike Van Doren checked into the hospital three days ago with severe pancreatic cancer.  His final Time Slip read 9:50 tonight.

Sadly Mike passed away last night from his brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He had ignored the symptoms until the pain got too great.

Sad to hear.  I always liked Mike.  I'd see him at the Big 3 swap meet and we'd shoot the breeze about the ol' Crosley.  Good guy.  Sorry to hear that he passed.
