1963 Vesco #444 streamliner
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:15:49 AM »
This is for all the Bonneville historians (and would be historians). I am searching for photos/articles on the Vesco #444 streamliner from 1963. This version is blue and was powered by an Offy 4 on alcohol. The body had a thicker mid-section without a canopy which required the driver to look through a clear panel on the front of the car. Don Vesco made it into the 2000mph club with it. I've already checked the internet and have also contacted the Vesco's (waiting for a reply). I didn't ask Jim Miller over at AHRF as I no longer have a valid email for him. So I was hoping someone could check the 1963 issues of Hot Rod, Car Craft (Nov.) and Rod & Custom for any photos. I have already seen material on the earlier (1957 or so) yellow car so don't need that. Only the 1963 car please. Thanks.

Neil, haven't you seen the artist's renditions of the hat for the 2,000 MPH Chapter of the Club?  The hat is gold with platinum inlays highlighted in unobtanium and the whole thing is encrusted with diamonds, then sprayed with a sparkly saline solution which crystalises to give a really cool glare when viewed in harsh sunlight.

I guess you didn't see it, hunh?

That hat would look great on Nancy, but I guess she's no longer riding.

Thanks guys for the help. I have already contacted team Vesco. Dynoroom - the 2 color photos are of one of their motorcycle LSRs  but the b/w photo is the car I'm looking for. I was hoping someone would have the 1963 issues of Hot Rod, Car Craft and Rod & Custom and check for pics. Anyone? Thanks.
