Pat Kinne has passed.
« on: October 08, 2016, 01:28:13 PM »
It's with a sad and heavy heart that I share the news of our good friend, Pat Kinne, passing away today.  Pat has been a Bonneville racer for many years and served on the Bonneville 200 MPH Club Board for over 10 years.  Pat fought cancer, but it won.  He was our good family friend for over 55 years and on our race team.  Pat was the best and will be missed by many.
On behalf of the Fjastad family, Kathy Olson

So sad to hear of this. Pat was a key member of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club board and an ambassador for the sport. I enjoyed working with Pat over the years.

Joanie and I send our prayers to Pat's family and friends.

These men went out of there way to make sure I felt welcome in the club.

Thanks for all you did Pat.

He supported Bonneville NW Reunion totally.

It was always on his own that he secured

a donation from the 2 Club to support our

event.

Pat, Thanks Forever.

I haven't been on the board as often as in the past, but I just came across this, and I'm deeply saddened.

In 2013, I did a presentation for the New England M.G. T register about MGs in LSR.  While many were aware of the EX factory cars of the 1950's, I was able to expand on the brand's history by including the MG ZT-T Pat drove in 2003.

In preparation for the talk, I called Pat, and he was incredibly gracious and forthcoming with details on the car.  It was a blustery time for the MG-Rover Group - I suppose one could say, "when wasn't it" - and he clued me in to some of the details of actually getting this thing financed and on the track.  His insight helped me put together a cogent tie-in with So-Cal and MG, their parallel and shared history, and the culmination of cooperation at Bonneville.

My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

Bummer.  That sums it up.  Pat and I didn't have many times when ur paths crossed, but we knew him from the 200 NPH Club board and SCTA volunteer and on and on and -- wait a minute.  Pat, we're really gonna miss you. :-(

May he rest in peace.
