1034 Maine Barons
« on: September 29, 2016, 07:03:18 AM »

Just saw this on FB posted by Laura Hotrodmama SanGiovanni:

"If anyone is wondering why I am posting all these photos of the 1034 Maine Barons racecar.... It was destroyed in a fire on Friday, along with the Hanson's business 😢 Thinking of you all"

MANY of you know the car from Maxton, Wilmington, Loring and Bonneville:

Sorry to hear this!

Oh, crap -- an iconic car is gone.  The Barons car has meant lots to me forever since I first saw it.  Dang. . .

Slim, I agree 100% with what you said. To me, this car is the epitome of a Bonneville race car!

That photo does a good job of bringing back some of the reasoning behind Detroit's choice to abandon suicide door styling and return to hum-drum hinges in the front.

The only thing better than an evil sounding car with suicide doors is watching a young lady in a skirt getting in/out of one
I`d never advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...But they work for me.
