RIP Nick Nicolaides
« on: September 26, 2016, 06:30:38 AM »
I regret to inform you all that over the Labor Day weekend Nick passed away after a short illness. His children were by his side. Sorry for taking so long to post this, but I was giving them the time they needed to make announcements of their own.
His funeral is scheduled for October 22nd at noon at the Forest Lawn near Griffith park. There will be a viewing on the 21st between 5-9pm.
His family did not realize it was a race weekend when they scheduled the service and there is no way to change the date. I'm sure Nick would prefer you all to be getting dirty at ELMO. For those of you that can make it,the family would appreciate your presence.
 Thank You

Slim, just so you know,Nick and Connie both had a high opinion of you and Nancy. They pretty much had a great opinion of everyone, including those that didn't return the favor. They were like that. Damned lucky to have known them and called them friend. The Brits have a term;"gutted". That's how I feel right now. Don't think I ever met a pair of kinder, more generous people in my whole life.

Very sad news indeed,

This and last month have been hard on the Great Land Speed Folks.

Nick was not himself without Connie around although He would not admit it.

I am sure that They are Happy again together, and my money is still on Connie to still be faster............

RIP Friend and tell Herbie Hi for me.
