I got an email from Jeff in late June.  He'd had surgery the week before and indicated he was scheduled to have therapy in July.  His message was humorous in part, and hopeful in nature.

Stan, we are taking a trip to NM in about 3 weeks. I thought we would try and look him up if I could find out where in Abaque he lives. Could you give me a call with his email address or phone number. My number is 417-830-1504

Just talked briefly with Jeff.  He just got the results from his 6-month check-up and got the green light. That's all I know, but it's good news.
