I got to thinking. Maybe GH got the hourly rate, rather than the overnight rate.
Got nowhere to hide there. We're staying in Ely Thursday. My favorite town to spend one day a year in. Don't want to stay there much longer, although the car show -- once-a-year Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the public park, right across from the high school, is a kick. All the civic groups show up to help promote it -- the 4H, Rotary, the girls from the Green Door. Great fun with 12-oz. margaritas for $6 and greetings from the ladies who invite you to visit them later. I mean -- the whole community supports the event.
For years I've tried to have one drink in each of the bars in that very special little town. Love the Hotel Nevada -- the tallest building in Nevada (1926). Its six stories beats out the Mizpah in Tonopah -- a scant 5 stories. My quest has never been completed -- and now in my failing years, probably won't. But, who knows. I hear they're having some sort of race up the highway. Love to see those old hot rods, side by side, roaring away down the track (with the guy in the pickup telling Andrew Hopkins(?) in the motorcycle to shift). So much for my memory.
