Slim, as the father of five teenagers (they were at one time) an old 272 ci 3 speed is the most perfect car possible.  It will get wrecked.  The collision will not be high speed.  The car will not be a big loss.  You cannot find a better vehicle.  Talk him into keeping it.

I understand, having once been a teenager -- although back then the dinosaurs were so prevalent that I had to drive really carefully.  But Andrew has already managed to ding and dent and get upside down in his old Dodge pickups, so he's got that part of the experience of being a young lad well started.
