Great job to Danny and the crew! I had read in a couple different places that his mom was there to see it. Who held the record previously? Nearburg?

It is really terrific to see that Danny got the car to perform after all these years.
I was at Bonneville in 1968 observing the Mustang record onslaught by Mickey and Danny Ongais.
Joe Petrali had invited me to come out and see how things worked with the USAC timing crew - after he learned our LSR crew (The Blue Flame) had never been to the salt flats.
Mickey and Danny proceeded to set all manner of records on the International Course and on the circle course (endurance records). The Ford sponsored Mustang records were the priority.
The Autolite streamliner just sat there waiting its turn. Unfortunately, that turn never came in 1968, when the weather ended the session. I guess Mickey's other business ventures took all of his time after that - and the beautiful streamliner became a garage queen.

When Danny began the restoration of that machine I was rooting for this day.
Congratulations Danny - and Mickey!

I was lucky enough to be down at the 5 mile helping retrieve a bike and rider during that 411 run and it sounded great.
