Wendover weather
« on: August 05, 2016, 03:09:33 PM »
If I'm reading it correctly, the forecast on Weather Underground is predicting thunderstorms with a 25% chance of 0.01" of rain for Wendover today.   Afterwards, no precipitation is predicted through next Sunday, August 14.

A lot of what you may see on the radar map is at 10,000'; and becomes "Virga"; which evaporates before it reaches the ground.
This* is  a good guide to see if anything really occurred.
All the various weather turkeys get their info from NWS, then embellish as needed to get eyeballs.

I'm not gonna worry until we see yellows.

Worry?  I thought that a 25% chance of getting 1/100th of an inch today, then nothing for the next nine days sounded pretty good!

I've had  that problem. Evaporating before it reaches the ground.
