BUB7 - Valerie Thompson
« on: August 02, 2016, 08:23:53 AM »
According to Mike Cook's Land Speed Shootout Facebook page, Valerie Thompson is currently getting up to speed with the BUB7 'liner.

Another contender for the outright two-wheel record?

The Bub #7 held the record just before Rocky in the Ack bike, and after that the further development kinda slowed to a crawl.  There's most likely a good bit left to be discovered and used in the bike, for sure, and Valerie is a fine pilot, from what I know, to be the one that's trying to move the bike along towards 4+.

An the training time - the tows and all of that - gotta be great at Mike Cook's T&T time.  A decent track, nobody to wait in line for, and so on.  Best wishes and have fun, Valerie.

Since that scooter is out and about again, I assume that the ownership is known as well?  Not long ago, no one would talk about where it was, and in who's hands it was in.

Wow!  Didn't Denis Manning value it at $10M at one time?  Although he indicated he would be prepared to cut a deal . . .

If V.T. Now Owns BUB7  , I hope it gets a better paint scheme, Kinda Bland,
I mean compared to , The Harley Streamliner & The NORTON Streamliner
OK, Maybe, Just paint it orange...................................................

Valerie is a super gal.  Went through my rookie program at the salt and at El Mirage.  I keep tabs on everyone that went through my program and I enjoy seeing people progress in our sport.  Best wishes to her and her new endeavor.  Regardless of the paint color, keep it shiny side up Val.

Best idea is wait till you ride it a few times before you paint it....

Can't think of a single streamlined bike that has not been down.... it is not easy to learn to ride one.

The bike seems to have largish primer patches on both sides (NOT saying that they're new).

Man, That is sooo true, Take note readers, Sr Members Know so much more...
Just from being around longer, Hate to admit it sometimes, I write something , Then read the next day what a Guy Like Stainless says
And them its,, Arrggh I should have thought about that...
Age does not make up for years on the salt, As in , Even if I was Older and Wiser, Guys that have been there more, Just know..
From now on Im going to try and think, In salt years, Stainless1  65, But salt years , I cant guess, But id bet it all 10+ years ?
20+ Years ??
P.S.  I meant that in a Good Way,,, Not a Smart Arse Way
So, Here is an idea, When Valerie is ready, And up to speed, She should put a Hmm,, Updated Paint scheme on BUB 7
You know, Lines, Like on ACK Attack, Or Gold Leaf Like Danny Thompson put on the Challenger II
Wait, My Favorite Streamliner, When Max had the Vincent All Black With just the name Vincent on the side..
OK, Maybe I shouldnt post so late a night anymore....................................
