Word from Steve Gibbs that we lost another icon of the sport.

Art Chrisman passed away last night.

God Speed Art, thanks for being a friend & mentor.

Art was one of the original Bonneville 200 MPH Club members, the last living. He was a pioneer of the sport and an asset to all of Motorsports.

May he rest in peace,

From Facebook;

Bud Rasner..
Chrisman Memorial
 The many people who were touched by Art Chrisman and would care to attend a memorial should mark your calendars. This is an open invitation to this very special event to help honor this great man.
 Steve Gibbs has been the chosen liaison for the family and the NHRA museum to arrange a memorial date for Art. Availability of the museum and de-confliction with the drag racing activity and Bonneville has yielded this date that has been selected. Steve asked me to post this initial information to our racing community. We will supply more specific information in a couple of weeks. This advanced notice will serve to help people who might need to make travel arrangements.

Met him once, 30 odd years ago.    He was an unforgettably nice guy.
