"No experiment can be more interesting than that we are now trying, and which we trust will end in establishing the fact, that man may be governed by reason and truth."

Thomas Jefferson

We live in both the curse and the blessing of "interesting times".

So did many before us.

While Jefferson's hypothesis remains unproven, the results, mixed, the end, nowhere in sight, this experiment will continue.

Hell, it's only been 240 years.

Well, I guess we're making a LOT of progress . . .

This morning I got up at 5:30 and poured concrete.  Then, Rose and I took the rowboat out and paddled up a local river, looked at the fields of flowers, and had a nice holiday.  The field in the front is grown for the seeds you see in the little packages at the hardware store.  The field in the back is poppies and the seeds are harvested for putting on bagels and other things that use them.  It was a good holiday.  Thanks for thinking about us.

Bo, that looks like prime small mouth territory. Maybe a popper and just let it set a while. :-D :-D
