National Museum of the USAF's NEW Hangar 4
« on: June 20, 2016, 05:56:51 PM »
On my way home from PRI last December, I stopped at this museum because it had been a couple of years since I'd been.
While here, the folks said that hangar 4 would open in July 2016 so I knew I'd be coming back.

Last week, when Woody posted that the hangar was open, I made plans to go after the ECTA event.

I went today and all I can say is WOW and ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!. Like the 3 other hangars that are dedicated to certain themes/time periods, this one is no different. It is dedicated to Presidential, what is called Global Reach, R&D and Space aircraft. What is SO COOL about this hangar is that they have transport and Presidential planes you can go in.....Way COOL!

So without further ado, here is my Google Photos link:

If that link does not work, here is my Google+ link:

If you like planes and are ever in the area, all I ask is PLEASE, PLEASE go.....YOU WILL BE AMAZED!
Also, the last few pics are for Johnboy and Stainless.....Thanks for the Service Guys!

As usual, I hope you enjoy,
Gregg

Got to point a couple of pics and experiences that REALLY got to me today.

1st: Being onboard the Hanoi Taxi and then seeing this pic with former POW's after the plane left Vietnam  ground in 1973:

The docent and I were talking about this and tears welled up in my eyes.

2nd: Being onboard SAM 26000 where Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as President after John Kennedy was assinated:

Very somber experiences.
