On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

Did u jinx them when u said records will be broken today?  We all know just how hard all of this is.

Ron Main vehicle has surpased both of the speeds they are trying to attain and so have the Burklands...If this were easy everyone would do it..

I'll keep reading the site as often as I can and a big thanx for all of the reporting. If LSN was reporting i couldn't afford it.....

Great job joea

Curious question... does this pass make Tom Burkland the guy who has been over 400mph more times then anyone else?

Just daydreaming waiting on results..

Keith I asked the question.

And simply there was a laugh, then the NO. I won't say who told me..

Al Teague has 300+ runs on the his car, 50 of those runs over 390, and 20-25 runs over 400 mph... Or more...

Interesting...  I know he battled really hard to get that 409 record and had several runs over 400... but I thought by now Tom would have surpassed him... guess not eh... Cool... is he at least second?

Oh and make sure you tell Tom and the others, best wishes from nowhere Alabama...

Once again thanks for all you do, almost as good as being there. Great effort by the racers, crews and landracing.com to cover this special event. Ron Main. It was his year, Burkland and Nish will not give up. True LSR people doing what they love.

Jon,
Thanks for your reports.  I appreciate your time and effort as I know many others do as well.  For me, this week was a toss between jealousy and thanks that you were in the position you were this week.

I'm sitting here kind of snickering...  Any of you yahoo's that read this are absolutely as affected by this Salt stuff as I am...  we're simply sick puppys...  and I hope theres no cure...

Watching Tom work on his junk... what a treat...  and Terry's right there... with enough to go "REAL" fast when he sorts out that motor...

Main and Poteet get thier own paragraph...  George really is just as sick as the rest of us... he's just got deeper pockets then most... he could have gone home after speedweek and called it a day... but he goes out there and sets a record... they bust butt and re-qualify and up thier own record...   So to George and Ron...  if the only thing you win is " the respect of your peers"  you just won a whole lot more of my respect, and I had lots for the both of you going into this...  thanks for the race... I enjoyed it.
