 never had a problem  :-),, always clean both surfaces with Shellite before assembly,  :-)

Ronnie have a chat to Peter at Ridgecrest engineering in Vic, he has supplied all our copper gaskets and specs to suit,
o ring intended for reciever groove is installed at different depth to no groove , and groove is about .020 wider than o ring in our application , but this is dependant on gasket thickness

Gets difficult if bores are close together , my big bore busa has the o rings siamesed , and Steves 14 probably needs same
 your 12 may be better

Here's a sketch of dimensions that work for me with .024" thick copper.

That looks really familiar Jack. We used about the same on a big block Chevy pavement sprint car on alcohol. It had serious compression and head gaskets were always nervous until we changed to that system No more problems.

There you go, thanks to Jack's drawing skills.... On the bike motor the wire was 20 or 30 due to the amount of room available... On our big bore the wire was basically a figure 8, no room for side by side wires.
