All I can see is the opening statement, the link to the position paper is broken

The difference between a racer and non-racer is shown once again.
When a racer says "light it up" they know it will fire off.

The download link for the Position Paper stopped working for some reason.

It has been repaired. Please be aware it is a 12.3 MB download

A very well written paper with accurate conclusions and good remedies to the situation.

Reading the reports from the meeting that took place it seems that it is repeatedly brought up that it is not fully understood where the salt has gone to yet the BLM has acknowledged that Intrepid needs to at least return an equivalent amount of salt to the BSF as they removed during the year.  That is clearly spelled out in BLM papers that I have posted links to.  This clearly shows that the BLM does know why the salt surface, crust, has diminished over the years, the mining company is taking it.  They are admitting it themselves in those papers.  There is no reason for years more of studies when the primary cause of diminished salt is the mining as they have pointed out in their own papers,

The link below is a companion piece to Emma Penrod’s recent reports in the Salt Lake City Tribune.

We find the writer to be woefully ignorant of the situation and will be submitting a rebuttal. Interested parties might consider posting comments of their own.

"Woefully ignorant" is kind.   This is exactly what happened when the "Trout Wars" began with the BLM back in the 80's . . . . . .    Obfuscation and the "demand" for "more study".   This will give whoever, UNIMPEDED access to continue to "extract" the resource, without significant financial return to the taxpayer.   As in the Northwest, it will eventually be made public that the fees paid to the BLM for the "right to extract", do not even cover the administrative costs at the BLM.

Some things NEVER change.

Well, except the amount of salt on the flats . . . . . .

Louise,
Where can the “study plan” for the BLM/Brenda Bowen study be reviewed?
