Thanks, everyone - but I want to touch on this one in particular . . .

Chris;

It's your birthday- take the day off, listen to some Merle, drink some beer, & relax.

Regards, Neil  Tucson, AZ

Neil, that passing beat me down a bit this week.

One of my listed "Sponsors" is WMSE radio in Milwaukee.  They are a community based radio station operated by the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and it's all music, all the time.  Each DJ is a volunteer and formats their own program.  It's been a Friday morning ritual for me for 16 years to tune in between 9:00 and Noon to catch "The Chicken Shack".  It's old time country, gospel, jump blues, rockabilly, outlaw and Americanna for three hours straight.

Yesterday morning, it was wall-to-wall Hag -

http://www.wmse.org/playlists/?station=wmse&ptype=i&spinitron-month=Apr&spinitron-year=2016&playlist=15569

I did not stray from the radio yesterday morning.

After Hank Williams, Merle Haggard stands head and shoulders above his peers.  He sang equally as well as George Jones or Ray Price, could write circles around Cash, played guitar as well as Buck Owens, and one often overlooked fact is that he played fiddle dammed near as well as Bob Wills.

Anyway . . .

Plans today include a little garage clean-up (seems to be an ongoing theme this spring), Sushi and a movie with the woman I've been instructed to give a nasty hug to (Doctor's orders), and a bit of studying.

This last week, I've added the responsibilities of Human Resources Officer to my vitae at work.  We're growing in a way where the position is becoming critical to keeping and maintaining our staff, and I'm taking a lot of work off of the desk of our CFO, where it's been on the back burner since that role was redefined earlier this year.  This will slowly take me out of field work in rentals and more into a true managerial role, and quite frankly, at 56, am less inclined to want to participate in climbing ladders, hanging speakers and setting up sound systems at 4:00 in the morning than I was thirty years ago.

It appears to be a solid career segue for me.

I also saw the Brewers beat the Giants on Wednesday, despite stranding 10 runners and two errors.  That's what I like about baseball and LSR - you can screw up a bit and still chalk one up in the win column.

So it's been an interesting week for me, and yes, Paul, an Old Speckled Hen or two are on the docket - and probably a bit of Templeton on the rocks.

Thanks, everyone.  There's simply not a better group of folks I'd rather include in today's festivities and thoughts than my LSR family!

We are blessed to have You in our fold, whether it's

on this site or on the Salt. This forum is treated well

with the contributions of Mid America.  Your week

at Bonneville pleased me. Preparing for your departure

was a revelation. You won't likely have that type of

help on your next trip. I could hope.

ONB........No way "A pre-Obit."  The helper he had the last time is

unlikely to return with him on the next trip. Both of them are well,

trong and just the exact type of people that make our extended family

so special. Midget understands, I am certain. If not I'll call him and

make certain that he does.

Happy Birthday Chris.  You are doing a good job on that car.  This should be a good year for you if the salt gods allow us to race.
