The track is about 9000 feet long....In theory that means 3700 feet to slow down before you run into the weeds... Did a rear brake only car run off the track requiring a rule change? are you required to have a chute for over 175?
To my knowledge NO vehicle with four tires and two wheel brakes have ever gone into the weeds at the end of the track.
The only vehicles that I know of and a few I have personally witnessed all had four wheel brakes. Driver error was the cause of two I personally witnessed. They also had chutes! You need to pay attention to where you are at the finish line some drivers seem to have a BIG problem with that part of the run!
I have personally made runs over 175 MPH with brakes on the rear axle only and safely stopped in shut down with the use of a chute. But I know where the finish line is located.
