Thanks all.

I got my Rodrigues LP in 1972.
In late June I had a bad bike crash that resulted in me losing my
left Patella (kneecap). I was in cast from ankle
to thigh for 9 months. I was the rookie hockey player on a team
with much older guys. 10 years older at least and wise in the ways
of the world. Bunch of degenerates actually. :-D :-D

They all had long hair, rode bikes like Triumph Bonnevilles and Norton Comandos and chased women
when they weren't smoking weed. :-o :-o

They were supposed to have jobs but for some reason they always hung out at my place.
They were there to eat my mom's food while she was at work. They always had the munchies.

Long story short. I ended up with a good selection of music. Each guy brought a few LPs for the bed ridden
kid. I got Grand Funk Railroad, Santana, Ten Years After, Rodrigues, James Taylor, Jethro Tull and a bunch of others.

Being isolated in South Africa we thought Rodrigues was famous like all the rest.
I never gave it much thought until I saw the documentary on cable. We now know that wasn't the case. :x

I guess he could have moved here to the sunshine and become royalty instead of being in Detroit.
