Entry and membership renewal heading out today. Already have my vacation time in for Speed Week. Will there be parking/camping at the museum site this year?

Well,

I have the hope that I will stand on this day at the starting line and see the racers going down the course...

Picked today my tickets (August and September meets) for the plane and took care for the car rental....and send my bank account to hell...

it's getting tougher every year to be at the salt....the air fair and the car rental prices increased again...

plane and car are this year around 5 500 dollars....

...so cross the fingers that we can race this year at the salt....drove the last two years enough around the states....I prefer to sweat at the salt and to frame the racer...

Looking for to seeing all my speed friends in the near future at the salt....

Mailed entry today and hoping for a good course. Even a shot course. But BNI should offer refunds as option if short course is used.

I just sent TFA's Speed Week event application in, YAY!!  We've had 2 rooms booked at Montego Bay for a while.
I am 110% positive that the salt is going to be beautiful.
MUST BE TRUE bc i had a dream about it last night.

For a while fear of bad salt had me planning on doing the July event at Loring.  Love that place, love those people.  Even talked with Tim Kelly & Long Island Joe Daly about their tech inspection and TFA lakester not having front brakes.  We agreed on a testing/run protocol which would assure not running off the end.  All set.
But thinking about it, i did 10 years on asphalt and my heart is now on the salt.

So all our eggs are now in the salt basket
I am soooooooooo psyched.

hey Johnnie!
We have been ready since last June, no big mods, just sitting there begging to be used.  "Just sitting" is hard on the TFA crew; we are all forgetting anything we knew.

I did some small data logging improvements, added steering departure log and FINALLY solved my poor rpm trace to the Racepak by installing a digital MSD ignition.  But other than that we are just waiting...
What are you bringing to SW, your monster "production" harley?

I kinda reworked my street Fatboy to make some DL runs, just to get my Competition License current. I didn't think we would be finish with the APS Bike in time, and wonted something to run, at least to get my license current. WOW, the rework project turned into a monster as one thing lead to another.
Heck fire by the time we were ready to go, the Fatboy might even run good enough for a record, How'd that happen. I am still working on some tuneup things,( NOS ) but other than that sitting and waiting too.

Just the Fatboy this year. By the time we were finished the darn thing got a little on the stupid side :-D

136 inches, LSR tires, after market every thing but the on/off switch.

Looks like an old school nightmare gone wrong  The NOS will be computer controlled with threshold points that have to be met prior to the spray working, Throttle position, RPM, and Speed. All three have to be above the set point to spray. So I will control the NOS with the throttle once the other two threshold points are met.

The power we are seeing so far meats the WOW factor. The good part is it is still street-able, I rode it to and from a fund raiser a couple weeks ago, it did just fine, just had to be careful. It was like riding a Thoroughbred without a guide horse.

What the hell, you only go around once, might as well have some fun.

Unfortunately on August 13th we'll be in Houston after a 3 week US roadtrip visiting NY, Philadelphia, Pocono NASCAR and then a tour round Texas.  After two years of cancellations and having toured the SLC locality with a rented motorhome we're taking a year out.  I'll be following progress on here and hope the salt gods are kind this year.  Hopefully 2017 we'll be back.

The car will be staying home, but I'll be there with one of the boys in tow. Here's to good salt, and hopefully a future for my boys to race there as well.
