Hay, straw, and silage.  Here it is -- your very own topic for the big event.  Have at it, ladies and gentlemen, and remember -- we'll see you on the salt.

On a good year it smells like money. On a bad year it smells like $hit.

Some of us "city boys" do know about silage.....we had relatives who owned farms...Probably generated enough methane gas to power the whole farm too...

Can anyone comment on how the salt flats look this year as opposed to the last couple years?  I'm sure it is wet, but I am wondering if it is a mudflat, or if we have some salt showing.  I just hate to make another donation to the resorts with a huge deposit, if the salt still looks bad.

One question to ponder is if there is only enough salt for a short course, will it be economically feasible for the SCTA/BNI to hold any event.
You would most likely not have any entrants with records above say 225 mph willing to pay the entry fee to sit in line for several hours (depending on number of entrants obviously) for what would essentially be a test and tune. The Organization cannot afford to continually lose money.
The next question would be; what condition will the salt/dirt present to the racers?
Personally, I have rooms reserved but am somewhat dubious that anything less than a miracle will give us a course this Year.
We need a Dike built and Year around pumping to turn this around.  We all need to do our part with our wallets and our pens (as in Master Cards).

I bet you never smelled grass silage that was chopped green and then packed in the silo.

Didn't Trump say he would build a yuge wall and get Mexico to pay for it?

I was curious if anyone who has been out to the salt recently had any reason to be optimistic about a 2016 race.

Im With, We need someone close to,  Go Look , Please , Be Our Eyes ?  Well also maybe take a few photos ?
After watchin that last meeting with Tom Burkland and L.S. Louise,  It sure sounds like the salt needs all 2016 summer to cure and be ready?  Im not liking that , But if it almost heals the track for years to come, Well I say we wait just one more year, But deep down, None of us are getting any younger ! And I like every one else Deep Down, Hope & Pray, That were on the salt in 2016 !!

They are pumping right now so it will be difficult at this early time to tell. Once it is dry we
l  will be able to take a look and plan the events at that time. Bare with SCTA & USFRA with any updates.
