Utah Alliance/Ron Christensen Bonneville Presentation
« on: January 08, 2016, 04:15:30 PM »
You'll find the link below to the presentation that Ron Christensen made during the December meeting of the Utah Alliance.  He discussed the changes in the Salt Flats from the first racing events held in 1914 to the current conditions of today.

Great video and info.  Depressing, but nice to see it documented in a way that can't be ignored.

Good presentation but I think the final summation should have been a photo or map of the salt crust in the old days with the present-day crust boundaries overlaid. That would be a simple but graphic way to drive home the point.

Good presentation. Shows how the edge of the salt has receded.
However aerial views only show white salt, not thickness, .25 of an inch will show as salt. The 2014 view shows there was no salt, only mud at the end of the road which with traffic, caused the tank traps we drove through or around.
