It's been about 20 years since I was there last.  My grandfather use to take me to Indy every summer.  Good times.  I was there for Arye's 234mph average lap speed run during practice.  That car was just on it that day.  In the pits even.  I've got a great photo of him stepping out of the car right afterwords.

Everyone should make it to the speedway in may at least once in thier life.  The sound of those high revving motors echoing through those big empty aluminum grand stands during practice is just one of the best things ever.

Ah, I'll up the ante.

I went to Indy for the first time for the 1961 race and had fifth-row seats on the outside a few yards down from the line.  The sound of 32 Offys and one Novi coming down the track for the green, the wash of methanol fumes over us as they roared past, the blast of wind from 33 dinosaurs screaming past at full throttle -- you think that's ever gonna fade from my memory? :-D :-o :-D

I'm not sure you upper the ante as much as showed your age :)

That said, I do wish I were old enough to have seen the roadster era at Indy.  It's still shocking to me how much power those offys made.

Crap man, I'm barely surving my late 30's.  I've had a knee that's been dodgy for 3 weeks, and now my back is acting up again, I cant stand, I can't sit, I can't lay down, it's all pain and sucks.

Seriously... it's like a hot poker in my left side right now.... agian... chronic back pain is crap.

He's already hitting me with his ear horn... how much worse can it get!

So long as he's hitting me with the big end of it, the little end is gross.  I'll cry like a girl, don't tell him.

Ben, he's right -- I can have lots of fun with the controls for the Forum here.  Hint:  Didja ever wonder why most common swear words don't come out right when you type 'em here?

Okay, okay.  Don't make me go into it and change the commands to including words that have "-ing" or "-ed" appended thereto.  Thanks.  All will appreciate that restraint.

Yeaaaah you're going to just have to get use to that out of me.  I don't live in a world where superstitions such as the idea of "bad words" exist.
