Steve Nelson, lakester number 221, class V4FL, ran 197 as shown in the attached pic with an engine that made 275 hp at the crank flange. Last year we streamlined the rear axle and radius rods and ran 203 in 2014. Put Steve in the 200 mph club.

  Great looking lakester Rex. If I knew the frontal area I could input that, 275hp, 203 mph and the weight into my Bonneville Pro computer program and calculate the CD.

  Seems that 500 hp puts a coupe or roadster around 200 mph.

and that should tell everyone building a lakester that just a little help can make big improvements when  streamlining a lakester within the rules.  A 6 MPH improvement is huge at that speed.

Yep, if they wouldn't of improved the aero it would of taken 26 more HP (301 HP) to get to the 203 mph.  The aero probably cost less and if they could find 26 more HP with the old motor then the car would go even faster with the improved aero, around 209 mph.
