Thanks to Veterans Today
« on: November 11, 2015, 08:38:04 AM »
Once a year in this great Nation we pause for a moment to remember to thank the folks that served in the armed forces for their service.

So I'd like to give a big shout-out to all the veterans that served before me, along with me, and after.

If you enjoy the freedoms that we have in this great country, thank a Vet, today's a good day for that.

Thanks for posting this, Rouse.

I sent an email to my fellow VAQ-140 veterans at 6am this morning (just to remind them how early we used to launch jets- 5:30 was common during deployment work ups)  :-D

Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served!

Well I just got back to the shop from attending our local Veterans Day parade and ceremonies.

WOW! I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout. The parade route was about 2 Miles +-, flag lined with spectators crowded for the entire length. The parade ended at the High School stadium and it was packed with folks there for the ceremonies that followed.

All and all a well organized and a worthy event. Make me proud that we have come full circle from the lows of the Vietnam days.

Patriotism is alive and well in the Schools of our community.
