. . . speaking of knowledge of someone's death --

This is a bit off-subject, but here goes anyway.

Not long ago I was at a party, and saw a lady I had known (but not well)
for many years.  I had read that she had died, and was surprised to see
her at this party.

Since I hadn't seen her for at least ten years, I wasn't sure it was even
who I thought it was, so I asked if she was  N______ M_________.  She
confirmed that she was.

(Obviously!) not thinking, I blurted out:  "I'm so surprised to see you here --
I had reason to believe you were no longer alive."

I don't even remember what she said after that.  It was something like
"Here I am."

By this time, I'm sure I was beet red!  (about a dozen nearby people had
been listening to this conversation)

I turned to the person next to me and cracked "Not my BEST pickup line."

Well it seems to Me that it would maybe be prudent for SSS to give us a separate Happy Birthday Topic Heading.  Don't blame it on Me, I never thought I would see Thirty!                                                                                 :-P  Bob

In one of the old John Wayne movies people kept telling him "I thought you was dead." He always replied angrily "Not hardly".

Yea if you ever thought you would live to be 69 you would have taken better care of yourself....

My guess.... Johnboy got the response he was looking for...  Bob seeing his name in the H & W thread and thinking he might have died...

Thanx to All.  I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up......................                Ol' One Run, out.................................

The version I heard was that when Bob was in high school the teacher asked him "what do you want to be when you graduate".
Bob's response was "no older than 25".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB

Bob - To your health, and your welfare -

As far as what you're passing - well, that's for you and your doctor to discuss.
