Joe Mabee
« on: October 30, 2015, 01:28:19 PM »
The recent passing of Jack Harvey had a friend of mine tell me that Joe Mabee, Bonneville 200 MPH Club 1953, has recently passed on. Does anyone have conformation?

Thanks,

I found this............

http://www.mrt.com/news/obituaries/article_3544509c-6bce-11e5-a8b7-73c9879c45f2.html

from the article

Mabee was an aviation enthusiast since his youth. He enriched his flair for airplanes, especially World War II vintage aircraft, and for race cars, especially his father’s Guy Mabee Drilling Co. Special, an open-cockpit streamliner. Mabee, then 22, set a world record with the streamliner of 203.105 miles per hour at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1953.

RIP

GodSpeed Joe...
Another pioneer is gone, one of the original members of the 2 Club. He lived a full, interesting and rewarding life.
