records question for Classic Gas classes
« on: October 23, 2015, 05:45:26 PM »
I was reading over the BUB rules and records and I must be missing something.  I can't seem to locate records in certain classes in the classic gas and classic fuel classes.  For example of what I did and did not find.

In the 500cc:

A- CG 119.890mph
APS- CG 134.351mph

In the 750cc:

M-CG. 125.012mph
MPS -CG?
MPS -CF?
A -CG ?
A- CF ?

In the 1000cc class

P-CG. 119.303mph
M-CG 135.115mph
M-CF. ?
MPS -CG 124.862mph
MPS- CF  ?
A-CG. ?
A-CF. ?
APS-CG. ?
APS-CF. ?

I understand that the classic class is reasonably new, but are the above existing records correct and the others currently uncontested?  I am primarily interested in the open, completely unstreamlined classic gas and fuel classes in 750 and 1000 (sohc Honda CB750 based) in production, modified, and speciation construction (A).  I am contemplating a major road trip from the east coast, with a first time BUB event the main focus.  Hopefully the salt will be good next year...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

George

No record listed means it is open, if you run it you record...

Hey George,

The BUB events are now run as the BMST events.  No record listed means no one has set a record in that class so they are considered open records.

The 750 Production Classic record is listed and looks soft.  Sometimes the toughest part of running for an AMA record is getting through tech inspection.  Then you have to complete a qualifying run and a return run in a certain amount of time to get the record.....and also survive teardown.

Don't run that D&K chassis in an A frame class......the salt will eat it up!
