Car 877 1927 Model T with GMC 302
« on: October 18, 2015, 08:17:16 PM »
Hi all,

For sale is a 1927 Model T with a GMC 302 inside, with or without the trailer.  Gratuitous detail below;

Location;
Frederick MD
Can deliver within a reasonable distance.

Car;
Fits FCC or VFCC depending on what you want to run.
Current ECTA record holder in FCC class at Ohio Mile.
1927 Model T steel body with chopped top.
Channeled over a custom build 2x4 steel tube frame.
Doors welded, escape hatch on top.
No suspension.
28 spline 9 inch rear with 2.50 gears and drum brakes.
Chevy NV4500 5 speed manual transmission, has granny low 1st so no push starts.
23 inch front runners in the front, 28 inch front runners in the rear.
1 and 5/8 inch full dragster style roll cage.
5 point harness.
Single parachute.
Front steering uses a 1964 ford truck spindles and kingins on a solid mounted bar. About 8 degress caster.
1964 ford f100 steering box.  I would replace it (if you can find another one), it's still loose after rebuilding.  I would go rack and pinion honestly.

Engine;
1954 GMC Civilian 302, now 321 cubic inches.
.125 over
Custom JE pistons 12 to 1 compression.  The deck surface was cleaned up, but not altered, could still be decked.
Custom R and R connecting rods, 7.5 inches long.
No alterations to stroke on the crank.
Stock harmonic balancer.
New MSD digital ignition box.
HEI distributor conversion.
Currently running a Methanol Quick Fuel 4 barrel carb, could use a cleaning, I run a screen, but really should run a filter inline.
10 gallon fuel cell.
Holley Fuel pressure regulator.
All -8 AN fittings from fuel cell to carb.
Delma Elgin Cam - lift - .536 intake .543 exhaust  duration - 300/304
Clifford intake, drilled and tapped for Nitrous, no nitrous kit installed.

I am sure there is more, but that's all I can think of for now.  Please feel free to PM me with questions or call/text my cell - 240 461 3435.  Leave a message and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Getting lots of looks.  The price is OBO of course.  Since I am in no need, nor hurry to sell, I put the price a little high.  It will include the trailer with ramps and a winch.

Stuck in the snow bump.  Who else is digging out on the east coast?

I think the final total for Frederick MD was 29 inches of snow, it's tough having a Basset Hound in this weather!

Comes with a brand new pair of Goodyear 2291 28.0x10.0-15 tires and rims.  As well as a spot at the Ohio Mile during the April 29th - May 1st event.

Though to be honest, I'd be hard pressed to make a deal before the event.  I am getting excited just thinking about running the car again!

The Model T has been upgraded with a Flaming River Pinto rack and pinion and it is a huge improvement!  I'll be at the Ohio Mile with the car and it will be for sale at the event but only after i get a few runs in!  I want to see how fast the beast is with better steering and new tires.

Plus a price drop, how about $9500 for the beast?  I got a new project in mind and it might involve a Packard straight eight so I am going to need some funds!

The car has a new record and still has plenty of power left in her!  The rack and pinion is a night and day difference.  Also, apparently I was running with the tire pressure a little too high causing the car to act like a bucking bronco about half way down the course.  If you buy the beast and do nothing except lower the tire pressure, one could easily break the current record.

I've had my fun, it's time for someone else to take the reigns!

So if I were to part out the car, who would want what and for what price?

Thanks,

How about $6500 before I start parting it out?

Alright guys and gals, sounds like I'll be parting out the car.  Let me know what you want and we can make arrangements accordingly.  I can ship any of it, just need to work out the details.  Look at the list and give me a shout for a price.

Thanks,
Sam W

Oh to be 28 again, but not broke like I was then!  I have more money than that in my old bike.  I wish I knew someone who could take advantage of all your hard work (I know how much).

But, that's the game we play right Tom?  If we were trying to make money at this, there wouldn't be an SCTA or ECTA!  It's still in one piece at the moment, but I am getting lots of requests for bits and pieces.  I'll try to come up with a more comprehensive price list and respond to everyone's requests.

Thanks,
Sam W

In an attempt to keep the biggest pieces together for a sale, I am proposing $2500 for the rolling chassic sans motor and $4500 for the GMC six banger.
