2015 Bonneville Hotel Refunds

Just curious how everyone faired with the hotels in obtaining refunds this year?  Thanks

Rainbow did a refund BUT it was a lot more than one night maybe it included all the tax and stuff. Better than nothing I guess.
 This hotel non refundable stuff sucks should we book for next year will their be a speed week next year?

I think I got about 80% of my prepayment. Montego Bay.

I had 5 room at the Rainbow they decided to keep one night for each room. Yes you guessed it; it was the most expensive night for each room.
I guess if you do business with the room Mafia, you get what you deserve.
You can bet I will not book rooms with them again. Problem is, I'm only one customer and they will replace me with the next sucker to come along.

The hotels think they are the only ones that suffered losses from the cancellation of the race it seems.

Two rooms here at MB for about $650 they kept. I was told that I may be able to use it as a credit if i go before the end of the year. Maybe any one who needs a room give me a PM and you can use it.

The Motel 6 did not refund anything to me....  oh wait a minute, they didn't pre-charge me anything so there wasn't anything to refund. 
Yes, like everyone that stays there year after year, I have my rooms already pre-reserved for next year.  It is good to do business with the same place for 20 years even through multiple owners.

Your first night there was probably the most expensive -- Friday or Saturday?  Those of us who go to casino towns (Vegas or even little Laughlin) are familiar with the rate structure.  The $39 room becomes $99 or something similar when the weekend hits.  Those SLC residents will pay for their sinnin'.  Or go 50 miles west to step up to even more, sinnin' wise.

I had Thursday thru the middle of the week reserved, with Saturday night being the most expensive, You guest it again, Saturday night was the one that was not refunded X5.

Seems picking their customers pockets comes natural to a casino.

Got my refund from the Montego Bay.  They sent an email and put it back on my credit card, less the one night's charge.  Two years in a row that they have done this for me, they may get tired of doing this at some point.

How would they get tired of taking free money.

No service = free money for them. 

So much for customer relations I guess.

I meant above that they may decide to stick with the policy of no refunds period.  The casinos did not do too bad in this deal.  They got one night's premium fee which was probably equal to two or three nights when we are not in town and then they got to rent out a bunch of the rooms again.  And best of all for the casinos, the new people in the room probably gambled more than we do. Yes, it is bad p.r. to not give refunds, but all of us acknowledge that when we make our reservations and some of the hotels have kept the fees.  I am just worried the Nugget and Montego folks may say the heck with it at some point and keep the full fee.  It is not like everyone will commute from SLC everyday to race.  I would also encourage everyone who did not get a refund to post the name of the hotel so that people will cross that off their list for future events, no use supporting people who won't support us.
