I was heading to the timing trailer when the steam car ran and after he came off the push truck there were actual "puffs" of steam coming out of the "exhaust". This continued all the way to short shutdown and over to the return road. My assumption is that he was under his own power but I ain't no steam expert!!!!!

The said they used a whole bottle of oxygen and it only put like 70psi in the tires. They couldn't figure out how to get more in those huge tires.

I hope they were using nitrogen, not oxygen. If anything wrong happened with oxygen in the tires there could be a really ugly and possibly fatal fire. Nitrogen is really stable and safe. It's what's used in most race car tires. They just need more cylinders of nitrogen to fill the tires to the pressure they want.

Ronnieroadster has a good looking Pushwagon and it's ALLmost a Flathead.  :-D   Wayno

Wayno, Maybe not a flathead but it does say "Ron's Hobby Shop Racing Wallingford, CT" on the front fenders........major COOL in my book.  That was going to be his push car at Bonneville this year. Man, what a sight to see with that pushing/towing his roadster!

If you don't have a compressor and are using bottles, like filling a scuba tank to high pressure, you need a cascade of bottles to get the pressure.

We use a high pressure nitrogen cylinder to fill our shocks to 350 psi and our tires. One small cylinder with 2000-3000 psi in it will last a long time. You find them at a gas or welding supply store.

The Y-blocks were well represented at this meet. And the answer to "Y" is Y-not!  :-D :-D

I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up. I recently learned that if you haven't grown up by the time you're 50, you don't have to.  :-D I'm safe.
