VERY Cool Speedweek Poster
« on: July 13, 2015, 09:12:05 PM »
I don't know who designed it, but the new "look" is wonderful.  Captures the experience about as well as one could with a "cartoon".
Excellent!

Sorry S-less.  But the only pictures I have are right side up.  I'll need to go back and shoot one from your "on my head" perspective so as to not confusilate you.
No, no... no thanks needed.  I just want you to know I'm thinking about you... 'specially the way you say "fruits and nuts".

OOPS!  Looks like somebody beat me to it.  Oh well, just turn your monitor over so it looks "normal"... Enjoy!

The poster is great even if it doesn't have a motorcycle on it. But why the BLM logo? Did they contribute something?

Of course they did. They got us closer to sea level for a better tune by selling the Salt out from under us.  :wink: Wayno

This year's poster was designed by Larry Erickson. Larry, an old friend, called and asked if he could submit a few designs for consideration. Larry is a graduate of Pasadena's Art Center Design school. This campus has turned out many noted auto designers over the years. Larry used to wander the pits with his pad and color pencils during Speed Week. He would do a drawing on site and sell for $10, earned his cash that way. I have two of his drawings hanging in my den.

Larry ended up working at GM and Ford following his schooling. He is building front drive blower Mod Roadster for the salt.

Dan;

If you see Larry, ask him if he knows Dave Cummins, another Art Center graduate who worked for Chrysler.
