Quite literally true, Can.  We run a trophy shop -- and we have to look way farther than ever to find parts to make "old fashioned" trophies.  These days everything is shiny plastic cups and towers and figures made in a county that shall remain nameless but its initials are China.  No metal stuff that I know of.  Maybe the "top end" places know if the real brass is available - but I sure don't.
