Stan,
you asked about how I did. The bad news was that the driveshaft perished.  The better news was a 183.825 run that would have improved if the windshield was not covered in oil right before the timing lights with loss of forward vision as well as the desire to keep on the throttle. It is always nice to discover the problems early.

Yo, robin.  It's good to hear from you.  It's been almost forever.  Sorry that Nancy and I weren't at Wil-ton to say howdy, but maybe - if you find a new driveshaft -- maybe we'll see you on the salt some day soon.  Say hi to the rest of the gang of idiots (Mad Magazine) that hang around with you.

Weather today was totally different than yesterday. Sunny, mid 80's and worst of all, constant headwind.
As I suspected, MANY of the competitors left after Saturday's racing or this morning so turnout was very light.
As the morning progressed, more and more folks evidently had enough fun and left.
Naturally, with less folks came the hot lapping and there was plenty from around 11:00 AM on!
All-in-all a good meet.

Fastest bike of the meet was Scott Jones at 222 and change.
Fastest car of the meet was Ron Keselowski at 232 and change

I did not get many pics and am almost embarrassed to post the very few pics I did get.

My Google+ link from today is:

As usual, hope you enjoy.

Robin, My apologies for saying the rear end let go. When you came by the timing trailer, that is what it sounded like to me. Drive shaft is better ($$$$) than rear end!

Will you be back this year?

Greg as well as Slim,
We probably will not be able to go to the July Ohio meet but have been preregistered for SpeedWeek for quite a while. Hope to see everyone there.

Bikers were complaining 3~9 mph slower with the 5~10 mph head wind today.

Cars were complaining as well. Sean's Cadillac, with Dar at the helm, "only" managed a 189 with a 13 mph headwind!
Would have been REALLY cool to see him in the 2 club like Sean!

Having thought about it for a couple of hours, my favorite moments of this week end were:

Top speed for cars:   Ron Keselowski in his NASCAR Charger at 232!!!!!
Top Speed for bikes: Scott Jones at 222 with his bike!!!!!

Sean Mote and the 205 out of the Cadillac Coupe de Kill!!!!!

Amy Hartman for getting her B license at 180!!!!!

Steve Menendez, upping his H/DT record from 123 to 135!!!!!

Jerry Hoffman running 215 in his F/BGC 2JZ powered 240SX!!!!!

Mike Reichen running with, as he told me, 30 LBS of boost went 212!!!!!
If you don't know the car, it's a AWD Mitsubishi EVO and can HAUL A$$ BIG TIME - went 237 at Maxton!!!!!
BTW - He is planning on Loring in July and I'm REALLY looking forward to that!!!!!
He REALLY might hit Ludicrous Speed there and see plaid!!!!!  LOL...LOL...LOL!

Greg Neal at 191 with a 650CC bike!!!!!

Probably more but these are the ones that I have thought of most!!!!!

I hear ya on working on a car, you can miss a lot of what's going on if your trying to run a car yourself.

? is that the same set of pictures just a couple more?

And BTW no point in gripping about a head wind, doesn't do any good.

Thanks for all the support, Gregg, Keith, Brian, Kerri, Tonya, and everyone else.

The June meet was a big success all around.

If anyone's interested, here are a couple of videos taken from the cab of my Rampage.

First video is of the new Record Run (on low boost).  This was the first pass with the new injection pump and new turbo.  The old record was 123.xx mph and the new record is 135.6xx.  This setup is running STRONG for a 1.5L diesel.

Second video is my friend Darrell, making his Rookie licensing pass, trying to run 125 +/- 5 mph.  He ran 128, with some clutch slippage in 4th gear.  This video was shot out the back window of the Rampage.  I'll apologize now to the EPA and the fine people of Ohio for all the black smoke.
