When running 1"racing lug nuts on stock wheels. Should I change the angle on the nut to30* or change the angle on the wheel to 45*.

What's a "stock" wheel?  Steel?  Aluminum?  Tapered seat?  Ball seal?  Shouldered seat?

I would think the taper on your wheels should match the taper on your lug nuts. Have you talked to Joe Panak about the 1 inch lug nuts he sells? 310-325-8844. Joe knows lakes.

One inch lug nuts are sold with the angle you need check Speedway Motors.

I"ve always modified the the nut taper.  But that then means painting or something to keep them separate from normal ones.  Also don't forget to relieve the first couple of threads under the taper to prevent crushing into the thread and binding on the stud.

Like Mr Fox says, I'd cut the wheels to match the nuts.

If you have access to milling machine it is very simple to change taper. You don't even have to bolt down wheels as the counter sink will self center, just turn spindle slow, 100-150 RPM. Set quill stop so all will be the same depth. At most you are just taking off .040" to .050" to change taper. Much easier then modifying lug nuts, and you will not have to have special nuts if one is needed.
