Glad you enjoyed your trip out and thanks for having a good sense of humor and putting up with me and Stan.  There will probably be a bar with racing on big screen TVs in Wendover.  You going to Speed Week?

Unfortunately Speed Week has to be low on the list this year. I just started racing ChumpCar, went to El Mirage, the Ohio Mile, and am going to Pikes Peak this year. That said, there are a few guys from work that really want to go after I told them about how awesome Speed Week 2013 was and I might get guilted into it. Drats!

Hopefully this isn't a bad place to ask, but I have a few questions after the meet:
1) Do you have to be part of a club to run at El Mirage? I was really surprised at how important the club branding was. Hypothetically if I built a car for Bonneville but I live in Tennessee, is there any reasonable way that I could drive at El Mirage once?

2) If I brought a car to  El Mirage during a non SCTA meet could I run as fast as I wanted (like on a Tuesday afternoon)? I saw an EVO make a break for it and it looked like they were doing 100mph+ behind the pits, but it seemed like an awfully busy time for it.

3) I saw more of the 18" shaved indy car tires at El Mirage than Bonneville. Is that a traction advantage? It may sound silly, but has anyone ever ran a dirt track tire similar to what's on a late model circle track car?

You are being a little modest here Roger.

Tim Cox set the AA/CBGC record on Sat. at 212, besting the 210 class minimum and joining the El Mirage 200 MPH Club.

Roger Beckman then drove on Sunday, same class, and upped the new record to 220 MPH. This gave Roger his second 2 club hat. One is red the new one is Merlot.

Good job guys,
DW

I watch you go through on Sat afternoon. The car looked and sounded great go through the timing lights.
