chance, fate, whatever.

Not being able to race this season is a down right bummer. Its almost as if I think about racing more that I know I cant go. I know I will be back in 2016 better then ever with some attainable goals. And the reason for not racing this season is 100% justified.

So our good racing buddy Ralphie Navaro, rented our local race track for some 1/4 mile fun. Figured let be bring the Buell out one last time before we take it apart for its long list of improvements.

I go to the line, stage, the lights flash yellow, and let it rip......for about 3 feet, when the awful sound coming out of the engine made me want to puke! There is nothing good in pushing your race bike backwards from any starting line.

In the pits I removed the rocker boxes and the front intake rocker is loose, valve spring is in tack......and the front spark plug will not come out. Either I broke a valve or something made its way inside.....will know when I do a complete tare down.

ONLY GOOD THOUGHT....................glad I didn't drive all the way out to Ohio and have this happen.

who would have guessed it would take so long to go so fast for such a short time?

I know the feeling. Last Sunday We, Brenda Sue and I, were at the dyno to tune our new pavement bike. On the third pull it started puking oil, tightened up some bolts and tried again. Slowed it down but didnt stop it. Turned out we had a bad oring that is very different. We had planned to leave for Ohio Wednesday. No way to fix it and make the meet. So I will be listening on the 'puter this weekend instead of racing.

Hope you guys listened to the audio stream this past weekend.
I'll be doing Wilmington again in June, Loring in July and back to Wilmington in September.
I hope the combination of the audio plus my pics eases the pain some.

Runt, Fredvance -

Ah, yes - bullet dodging.

I've been there myself, and if it wasn't for testing, it's likely I'd have fried my engine in 2012.

We were doing some dyno work on a chassis dyno, and I had a valve seize up on me.  If I hadn't tried it out in advance, it's not likely I'd have made it through my rookie run.

I was three days to leaving for Wendover.

We're all looking for seat time, but I see no fun in running at a meet 1600 miles from home and having the horse throw a shoe.

That was my first trip in 2010 with an unsorted engine and a top speed of 22 mph.

Trust me - it's a lot more gratifying rolling it off the trailer ready to compete than pushing it back on and reintroducing yourself to your drawing board.

Well, I guess we're making a LOT of progress . . .

I missed being there. However we will be back next May with a all new power plant.

I really cant complain, the Buell has 3800 miles on it and only about 2000 were on the street. I have raced this bike in its OEM configuration for over 5 years. been to the semi finals countless times at the local drag strips and AHDRA, set, reset records in ECTA .
