John Ackroyd on Thrust II
« on: April 28, 2015, 09:47:08 AM »
A random web search rewarded me with this:

Enjoyable read, providing considerable insight into the thinking behind a successful absolute LSR contender.

Apologies if this has been posted previously.

Separately, anyone know what's going on with the SoA FS LSRV / Fossett car?

As long as Peggy has a distorted view of trying to make someone else pay for Steve'e dream, the money he put into the car, it will remain unsold; she simply wants an unreasonable amount.  Stuart has a hopeless job to finding someone who will pay too much - especially now, so many years later. The work involved just to make valid assessment of what is still viable and what needs upgrading is loads of work for many professionals.

We were so close, so unbelievably close, that to this day it pains me to think of the loss.

If Richard and his 'hounds are lucky this summer, it is not going to be an engineering game anymore as it will be a real estate game.

There is no shortage of plenty smart folks, but there are precious few places to call a safe speed playground at the speeds now on the table.
